Suspects killed by police are identified

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)  -- St. Louis Police have released the names of two suspects who were shot and killed by police early this morning.  

26 year old Jeremiah Henderson and 21 year old Darrell Williams were shot multiple times by officers after crashing a stolen truck in the 5600 block of Wabada. 

Police say Henderson and Williams were with three other people in the truck which had been stolen in St. Charles on Sunday. 

Officers spotted the vehicle around 12:15 this morning and threw spike strips into the path of the vehicle.  It continued to flee but flipped over when it hit a telephone support wire.  

A woman in the vehicle was immediately taken into custody. Two others resisted arrest and were tased. 

Police say Henderson and Williams reached for guns and thats when the officers fired shots.  Both men were struck multiple times and were pronounced dead on the scene. 

One of the suspects, who was tased, has been identified as 32 year old Montraill Claiborne.  He is charged in a warrant for drug possession. 

Warrants are pending for two other suspects in custody. 

The officers have been placed on administrative leave.  One is a 34 year old officer who has been on the department for ten years.  The other is a 30 year old officer who has been with the force for three and a half years.
