St. Louis County opens swine flu vaccinations to more residents

CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX)  -- Due to an increase in the availability of H1 N1 swine flu vaccine, the St. Louis County Health Department says it is now able to offer it to even more people.

Dr. Michael Williams, director of communicable disease control services for the St. Louis County Health Department, says with 121,000 doses of vaccine already delivered and up to 30,000 more coming every week, they are now able to expand the list of priority groups.

"We can now give the vaccine to children and young adults, from 6-months-old to 24-years-old," Williams said. "We are also taking adults, age 25-to-64, who have underlying medical conditions." That's in addition to those already on the priority list like pregnant women and healthcare workers.
