St. Louis police officers shoot and kill two men following chase

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)  -- Two men were shot and killed overnight by St. Louis police officers.

It all unfolded just after midnight when undercover officers spotted a pick-up truck that had been reported as stolen and gave chase.

The truck crashed at the corner of Clara and Wabada, and officers opened fire when they saw a couple of occupants reach for weapons.

Two of the truck's occupants were struck and killed.

There were three others in  the vehicle -- one of them was injured but will survive.

Police discovered that the truck had been stolen and that one of the occupants was wanted on a felony warrant.

No names are being given out as the investigation continues.

The officers who fired the fatal shots have been placed on administrative leave.
