ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- The long-awaited state audit of the St. Louis Police Department is due out this morning and critics of the scandal-plagued department are waiting to see if the official findings echo their protests and concerns.
State Auditor Susan Montee tells KMOX that her investigation found significant problems and she will be making big recommendations for change, but she refused to go into detail until the audit was released officially.
Redditt Hudson, with the American Civil Liberties Union of St. Louis hopes the state audit of the police department leads to reforms. "I think the public, to a certain extent, has lost faith in the idea that police officers are going to be held to the same standard as we are out here in the community," Hudson says.
Montee scheduled a news conference to release the findings at 11 o'clock this morning at the Wainwright State Office Building in St. Louis. The audit was requested by former Gov. Matt Blunt.
