PACIFIC, Mo. (KMOX)  -- Prosecutors say a woman's body found by an apartment complex dumpster had been dismembered.

37-year-old Vernell Loggins Junior is charged in the murder of Stephanie Fields.

"Her body had been stuffed into a 64 gallon trash can and left by the dumpster at the Monroe Woods in Pacific, Missouri, " says Franklin County Prosecutor Robert Parks.

Parks says the pair had been living together at that apartment complex the last couple of months.  He would not discuss a possible motive.

Parks says officials are still searching for parts of Field's body that were not in the trash barrel.  Investigators believe Fields was killed Sunday or Monday.  Her body was found by another tennant Tuesday.

Loggins is jailed on a million dollars bond.
