St. Louisans join in national effort promoting health care reform

Dozens of coalitions and organizations, including Paraquad and the Disability Coalition for Healthcare Reform, joined with others across the nation Tuesday to urge Congress to deliver on federal health care reform.

Demonstrators who were set up at the busy corner of Kingshighway and Manchester seemed to be getting a lot of public support with their "Honk for Health Care Reform" signs, as horns were constantly honking and many drivers were giving the activists the thumbs-up or even pulling over to talk to them.

Protestors say health care premiums are rising four times faster than wages and that nearly three-quarters of a million Missourians were uninsured in 2008.
