I love the way the Rams played against the Saints, but I was even more impressed with what Steve Spagnuolo's players said after the game: "We don't believe in moral victories."
The Phillies have a chance to take this World Series -- because it’s just a matter of time before Mt. Howard erupts. The Yankees need to be extra careful with Ryan Howard in Game 6. The former Lafayette Lancer can’t possibly be held down this long; it’s the law of averages.
The only thing surprising to me about the outcome of the 2009 National League Cy Young Award results is the fact that so many people here in St. Louis are surprised…
This week on Capitol Hill a Congressional hearing was held on the subject of long term damage resulting from head injuries suffered by football players. These hearings received a few headlines and there were some interesting story lines, but there was no big media blast, there was no tsunami of coverage from around the sports media world.
The Blues just wrapped up a quick two-game road trip that took us through Philadelphia for the first time in a few years. I love going to the old time hockey cities where the Blues go into the game with a long established history with their opponent.
When traveling from hockey city to hockey city October through April, inevitably much of our time is spent on an airplane. Luckily, the Blues do a great job in making travel times very easy. With the direct charter flights, the buses pulling right up to the plane, your room ready and waiting for you at the hotel, and the Blues equipment guys lugging around our radio equipment, we don’t even have to think. For us, the whole process is brainless, just follow the person in front of you and you should be ok.
It just seems strange to have a hockey team in the desert. It’s 95 degrees outside, and in a couple of steps, you could be inside a cold, dark building getting ready for a game played on a frozen pond.
The Blues are on their first North American road trip of the season, a trip that takes them through Phoenix, Anaheim, and wrapping up in Pittsburgh.
