KMOX 1120 AM, Radio & Records' 2005 News/Talk Station of the Year, is dedicated to being the dominant information and entertainment source for the St. Louis region. Its first broadcast aired on Christmas Eve, 1925 and is now heard in 44 states, throughout much of Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and now online at www.kmox.com. In 2005, KMOX celebrated its 80th anniversary as “the Voice of St. Louis” and currently holds a national record of 131 consecutive number one Arbitron ratings.
Kmox.com is KMOX’s web presence and features many exciting digital assets such as; podcasts, streaming, banners, customized content, and keyword search. In the first quarter, the KMOX website averaged over 2.25 MILLION pageviews and over 455,000 unique visitors! The streaming player is the place for people to listen to the station when they can’t get to a radio. The streaming player features video pre-roll that must be played before a user can listen to the stream. The video pre-roll and streaming commercials are synched with a banner in the player window that allows visitors to interact with the sponsor’s website. These ads are unavoidable and have been requested by the user. The site features many banners strategically placed on each page. The keyword search allows listeners to connect to advertisers by entering specific words into the search box that connects you to a sponsor’s offer.
