There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the Cardinals and Brian Fuentes since the Winter Meetings. Both MLB.com and the Post-Dispatch had quotes from Tony LaRussa indicating that a closer was the team’s primary need and that Fuentes was the best fit to fill that need.

Lohse not the answer for the Cards
Let me begin by saying that the Cardinals signing of Kyle Lohse to a 1-year deal isn't a terrible thing. It's not going to break the bank and he's not going to hurt the team with his presence. At least I don't think it will.
