Woman Struck By MetroLink Train

Richmond Heights (KMOX News)  --    A woman is recovering after being
pulled about 20 feet by a MetroLink light-rail train that struck
her Monday.

Transit agency spokeswoman Dianne Williams says the woman was
struck at 9 a.m. at the Richmond Heights station in suburban St.
Louis.

She was taken to the hospital for scrapes, bruises and broken
bones.

Williams says the woman apparently was focused on the eastbound
train she was trying to catch, and didn't look to her left to
notice an approaching westbound train.

   She was wearing a headset
and apparently didn't hear the train either.

The operator of the westbound train, traveling about 20 mph into
the station, saw her, and applied brakes.
