FENTON, Mo. (KMOX News) -- There was no homecoming dance at Summit High School in the Rockwood district on Saturday night. But that doesn't mean there wasn't a dance.
Adminstrators cancelled the high school homecoming dance after some students trashed a neighborhood in the Fenton-area. Police say homes were hit with paintballs and porches covered with syrup. Graffiti was written on parked cars.
So the Summit high school gym was dark last night. But students have their own communication networks.
Using a combination of text messaging and Facebook postings, the students who'd spent hundreds on clothes and accessories -- and their parents who paid for much of it -- booked the Stratford Inn instead, and, after decorating all day, held their dance there Saturday night.
