St. Louis (KMOX) -- A newborn baby is in good condition after being discovered abandoned in a Central West End dumpster Monday evening.
According to investigators, shortly before 9:00 p.m. Monday, a resident of the 5700 block of Waterman was doing some yardwork when he heard the baby crying, and found the newborn baby boy in a dumpster and called 9-1-1-.. St. Louis Fire Captain Bob Keuss tells KMOX the baby was likely born earlier in the day, since his unbilical cord was still attached.
The baby was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition and is expected to survive. St. Louis police are now searching for the baby's mother.
