ST. CHARLES (KMOX News)  -- A St. Charles man has died after his boat capsized while he was fishing on a lake on a farm he owns in Central Missouri.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office says 65-year-old Dale Kolb had been fishing with a friend on the 30-acre lake Saturday when the boat overturned. Both men were thrown into the water.

Patrick Gorman was able to swim to shore and told Kolb to hold onto a water cooler while he went to get help. Kolb was no longer visible when Gorman looked back to the water.

The sheriff's office says neither man was wearing a flotation device. The Missouri Water Patrol dragged the lake and found Kolb's body late Saturday.
