ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- The Turkish-Canadian man who stole a small plane in Thunder Bay, Ontario and flew it to Southeast Missouri last April, has been sentenced to two years in prison.
31 year old Adam Leon pleaded guilty in August to one count each of interstate transportation of a stolen aircraft, importing a stolen aircraft and illegal entry into the U.S.
Leon, who was a student pilot in Thunder Bay, ignored radio calls for hours before landing on a road near Ellsinore, Missouri. He was arrested at a grocery store there.
