Johnson Shut-Ins Won't Be Open In Time For Memorial Day

Reynolds County (KMOX News)  --   Officials with the Misssouri Natural Resources department announced Wednesday that they won't be able to open Johnson Shut-Ins state park in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

"We've had just a string of bad weather all winter long," explains DNR spokesperson Sue Holst, "so we are going to have to postpone that.  It will not be opened for Memorial Day weekend, but we're still committed to opening it sometime this summer."

Holst says the new target date is June 26th, one week before the 4th of July holiday.
