EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX)  -- There is more information this morning and now criminal charges in connection with the triple murder outside the Crown Food Mart in East St. Louis over the weekend.

In that case three women were shot numerous times as they sat in a car outside the convenience store.  Police arrested 21 year old Milton Lattimore the day after the shootings.  He was arraigned on multiple murder charges last night.

According to police, one of the murder victims, Jaimaca McDaniel was on her cell phone with Lattimore just prior to the shootings.  Family members of the dead woman say Lattimore was upset over McDaniel breaking up with him.   For that police say, Lattimore shot McDaniel three times.  Two other women in the car were also gunned down.

A break in the case came from one of the three children riding in the back seat.  An eight year old was able to identify Lattimore as the killer. The three kids were not injuried.  A not guilty plea was entered on Lattimore's behalf.  If convicted on the first degree murder charges he faces 20 years to life in prison or the death penalty.
